We’re excited to announce a major improvement to Victoury’s pricing system:
Custom Price Rounding that gives you full control over how your prices are calculated, displayed.
This update makes your totals cleaner, your calculations more predictable, and your reports perfectly aligned with your business rules and currencies.
What’s New
Victoury now lets you define how prices are rounded and how many decimals are displayed across your entire environment. You can configure these options in Settings / General / General
Rounding Type Options
- Always Up – Every value rounds upward to the next increment (Example: 200.145 → 201)
- Always Down – Every value rounds downward (Example: 200.565 → 200)
- Standard – Regular mathematical rounding (up or down automatically) (Example: 200.145 → 200.15 when using 2 decimals)
Decimal Precision
Decide how detailed your prices should appear, from whole numbers to two decimals or more.
Examples:
- 0 decimals → €245
- 1 decimal → €245.5
- 2 decimals → €245.47
Once set, Victoury applies these rules consistently to all price calculations, quotes, and invoices.
Examples
Example 1 – Always Down
With the following settings:
- Always Down
- 0 Decimals
A product has a base price of 1000 CHF
When booked, the arrangement will have the Sell Price of 1000 CHF
With 3 travelers and the price set per person, a single hotel night will cost 1000 CHF total.
The system splits the price in between the three travelers as such:
- Traveler 1: 334 CHF
- Traveler 2: 333 CHF
- Traveler 3: 333 CHF
The main traveler has an additional CHF added to their price in order to have the even sum of 1000 CHF.
Example 2 – Always Up
With the following settings:
- Always up
- 0 decimals
A product has a base price of 202.22 CHF
When booked, the arrangement will have the Sell Price of 203 CHF
With 3 travelers and the price not set as per person, a single hotel night will cost 203 CHF total.
The price is divided into 68 CHF, 67 CHF and 68 CHF for the travelers in order to have the expected total of 203 CHF.
With the price set per person, a single hotel night will cost 609 CHF total. The price per person is 203 CHF
How Victoury Handles Rounding Behind the Scenes
Victoury begins by processing your quote request, reading all traveler and arrangement details, and applying rounding settings. After that, it goes through each arrangement, recalculates the rounded price, and adds up totals across all arrangements. It also prepares in case adjustments need to be done for individual traveler prices.
Depending on the arrangement type, Victoury applies one of the two approaches:
- For insurance arrangements – it sums up all traveler prices, applies rounding to the total sum, recalculates the unit price from the rounded total, and updates the sell unit price.
- For non-insurance arrangements – it rounds the unit price directly, calculates totals from the rounded price, and updates the sell price inclusive tax.
Then, on the traveler-level, the total is divided by the number of travelers, rounding is applied to each traveler’s share, and the last traveler automatically receives any remainder to ensure a perfect match for the total.
Example:
Total €1000 / 3 travelers (0 decimals)
- Traveler 1: €333
- Traveler 2: €333
- Traveler 3: €334
A final check is done to guarantee that the final quote total matches exactly after rounding. Through this process, Victoury calculates the total and insurance differences, adjusts only the first traveler to correct minor discrepancies, keeps all linked fields synchronized, and applies price rules.
